Do I enter into a commitment?

No. If you register with chessgamble, you shall make no commitments.

What brings me to register?

You can play for play money tournaments. The membership as a play-money player is completely free.

What are the types member?

We distinguish two types of member:

play money player

As a play-money players can participate in tournaments for fun money. Play Money is "non-money value of money" that can be used for gaming purposes in chessgamble. Play money can not be paid. You can fund your play money account for free.
For play money players are no fees.

real money player

As a real money player you can play against other members for real money. Of the stakes in tournaments for real money will be retained a small share. Otherwise be payable for real money players that no other charges! For practice or to climb into our play money rankings to the top, you can continue to play for play money tournaments. These can play for free.

Can I later change my member type?

Yes. You can change from Play Money Player to Real Money Player. The change is for free.

Can I play anonymously?

Yes. For other players, only the player name you have selected is visible.

How do I log in?

Click "Login securely" in the header. Now enter your E-Mail Address and Password into the fields and click on "login".

May I use my PC chess program?

In playmoney tournaments; No.
Computer support for move calculation is not allowed. Opening books and opening databases may be used.
In playmoney games we want to match with each other using our own chess skills.

In real money tournaments: Yes.
First we want to have top-quality games. On the other hand it is not possible to check that everyone is abiding by not using computer support. Some chess servers are claiming to be able checking computer support, but this is unverifiable.
But we offer game types in which computer support is not possible! For example in Dark Chess a computer programm cannot supply a lot of support.

Their tournaments and games you see in the area to the left, heading: "My Tournaments". Above is a summary of how many games you play currently and in how many of them you are on the move. These include the following sections:

My Active

In this section you will find all running tournaments in which you participate.

Each tournament will be shown in this display as a block, the top shows the header information of the tournament. Below are listed the games of the tournament, in which you are involved. Your name is in the games in bold. If you are in the lot at the move, your name is highlighted in red.

The header data of the tournament include the tournament name as a heading. Among the main features of the tournament are listed.
By clicking on the header takes you to the main page of the tournament, where the table and all details can be seen in the tournament.

The list of games under the header contains only the games in which you are involved. Other parts of the tournament can be found on the main tournament page.

My Logins

In this section, all tournaments are where you are logged in, but are not yet started, because participants are still missing. By clicking on the tournament you get a detailed view, where you can log out of the tournament again.

My last Finished

This tournament is completed the last at which you are involved.

Ended

Click "Finished" message to all your finished tournaments to get.

money

Their current account balances at any time you see right in the top bar of the website. By clicking on one of the account balances or via the "money" you get to the detail view "my money" your deposit accounts.

your real money account

We carry a real money account. Real money will be used in real money tournaments as a stake. Real money you can withdraw at any time.

Choose to see the menu "Money" to your account details. In the box "Real money" you will see your real money account:

Balance your money is freely available. This you can use in tournaments or cash out leave.
Reserved This sum you have used in tournament registrations (ie, in tournaments, which have not yet started). You can make this money available for free by clicking opt out of the tournament before it started.
Total This is the sum of the two top posts.

real money account recharge

Select the menu "money". Click in the box "Real money" "deposit money" on. Select the check box with the amount you want to charge into your real money account and then click "Next". Transfer the desired amount to the account provided.

Select the menu "money" and then click "withdraw money" button. In the next window click on "Continue" (at the time withdrawals are possible only on German accounts).

Now enter your data and then click on "Withdraw".

For your own safety, we only pay money to an account from which you were also paid. The Mindestauszahlbetrag is 10 €. For each payment is a transaction fee of 1 €, which is deducted from your Auszahlsumme.

Play money can not be paid. You can use your play money account always free yourself up whenever you have participated in a tournament for fun money.

play money account recharge

Select the menu "money". Click in the box "play money" on the "play money € 50 charge." Your play money account will be increased by € 50 play money.
The charge is only possible after you have played a tournament for fun money. Otherwise, the button is not operable. Do you play a tournament game to enable money to the charge again.

rankings

The player rankings can be accessed via the menu "rankings."

So you can see how successful you and others have played, we offer a variety of player rankings. In the play-money rankings all players are listed by name. The real money rankings are presented anonymously (except ELO and Number of played Tournaments). I.e. only you see your name in plain text so that no other player can see how much real money you have won.

Apart from the distinction between play money and real money, we still distinguish between the rankings of correspondence chess and quick chess.
I.e. There are four types of rankings:

For each different type rankings rankings are available:

rankings Meaning
Chessgamble-ELO The ELO rating of the player. This arises from its successes against other players whose ELO rating is being considered in the calculation. During registration, each player receives as initial values 1500 for quick chess and 1800 for correspondence chess. Details of the calculations of ELO numbers, see here: Wikipedia: Elo rating . If the player did not play any game yet, it's ELO will be displayed as '-'.
Please notice that you have an own ELO for each rank type.
played tournaments total number of tournaments played.
profit sum over all tournaments The sum of the winnings of each player in all of its tournaments in total.
Highest win in a tournament The highest individual income (in €) in a tournament.
Average profit per tournament The sum of the profits on all tournaments, divided by the number of tournaments played.
tournament victories The number of tournaments won.
Gained lots The number of games won in total.
drew with lots The number of draw games played in total.
lost lots The total number of lost games.
point total of all lots The sum of all points of all lots.
yield point (in%) The percentage of points achieved in relation to the possible points in all games.

Tournaments

All games will be played in tournaments. The members create the tournaments themselves, with each tournament game use certain characteristics like, number of participants, etc. contains. All tournament properties and their details can be found in the Create tournament .

A tournament

join

Under the menu item "Tournaments" they see all the tournament offers to allow you to log on. Click on "details" of a tournament and you get to the main tournament page. Below you can click on "Register" to join the tournament. If the required number of players is reached, the tournament will start automatically.

Create tournament

Click on the menu item "tournaments". Click on "Create a New Tournament for real money" or "Create a New Tournament play money".

Tournament Name

Each tournament has a name.
The name is subject to the following conditions:

form game

There are following possibilities:

When
correspondence chess: When the amount of correspondence chess time controls 10, 20 or 30 days for each 10 moves.
chess: chess time controls the amount of 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes for each player for the entire lot. In chess, there is no vacation. I.e. even if you have vacation during this time, this is not for chess tournaments.

reflection

The thinking time-off applies to every game of the tournament.
The choice of the thinking time is determined by the selected game form:

In correspondence chess:

In this thinking time system, each player has X days for 10 moves. The reflection is measured to the minute at the time of the move.
After every completed 10 moves the player has additional X number of days for the next 10 moves. Not used thinking time from a previous 10-day period will be credited.

In quick chess:

In chess tournaments, there is no vacation. I.e. If you currently have leave the game, your thinking time is running anyway.

time credit per move

This option is available only in chess tournaments.

The time credit per move is 0 (None), 5 or 10 seconds. This means that the player gets credited with the execution of each move this time to rest his reflection in the game.

bet per player

Players

This is the number of participants in the tournament.

The choice of the number of participants is limited by the chosen form of play:

In correspondence chess: can take 2 or more players. The matches of the tournament all start simultaneously. For more than two players, only odd numbers of participants are allowed, so that each player has equal number of times white or black.
In chess: chess tournaments are only for 2 players and einrundig (exactly one game), since to be played simultaneously in the very short time, any games.

Maximum number of tournament preparation per day

The number of creating tournament per player per day may be limited by chessgamble.

Unsubscribe from one tournament

The tournament offers where you are logged in, you see the "My Subscriptions" in the list on the left. Click on the tournament, from which you wish to unsubscribe. Below you can unsubscribe by clicking on "unsubscribe" from the tournament schedule.

Sonneborn-Berger score

The Sonneborn-Berger score of a player in a tournament, calculated as follows:
The player gets full marks from all enemies, against whom he has won, and half the scores of all opponents, against whom he has also stored. The sum of these scores is its Sonneborn-Berger score.

The game display

Move execution

You can execute moves in various ways:

Drag and drop

Hold the piece to be moved with the left mouse button. If you move the mouse (while still holding down the mouse button) the potential target fields will be marked.
Then release the mouse button when the piece is above the desired target field.

Two-click or one-click method

You can in your personal data or in game display (if you are to move) switch between these versions (the two-click method is the default).

Two-click method: Click on start and destination square

Click on the piece you want to move.
Click on the desired target square.

One-click method: By clicking the target square

This method is very fast and suitable for quick chess. If you click on a square where only one piece can move to, this move will be executed. If several pieces aim for the target square, the move will be executed on a second click selecting one of these pieces.

Move execution affirmation

When move execution affirmation is on, your moves will be executed on your affirmation. Otherwise your moves will be executed immediatelly.

You can in your personal data or in game display (if you are to move) switch on or off the move execution affirmation (on is the default).

Enter a comment to your move

Click "comment". In the appearing dialog you can enter your comment. This will be saved on move execution.

Castling

Drag your king to the target field:

Pawn promotion

Moving the pawn to the last row, you will see a dialog where you can select the desired figure the pawn should be promoted to.

En passant

Just move the pawn to the target field.

Draw

Offer draw

Check "offer draw" check box before they "execute move" your move by store.

accept draw

If your opponent offers you draw, you will see a hint. To accept the offer, press "accept draw". If you confirm the prompt, the game will be finished with draw.

Reject draw offer

If your opponent offers you draw, you will see a hint. To reject the offer, simply execute a move.

Resign game

If you want to resign the game, press "Resign". If you confirm the prompt, the game is won for your opponent.

move Comments

By clicking on "Comment move" They all move-comments. If you are on the move, you can enter a comment below to your move.

move-comments are visible to all players. I.e. You should not make any information confidential.

Conditional Moves

Conditional Moves are left-overs from times where correspondence chess has been played via postcard. By the use of conditional moves the mail delivery time could be reduced. In online chess there is no mail delivery time. So conditional moves can not be entered.

Automatic Updates

The following displays are updated automatically (without having to reload the page), if something changes by actions of other players:

When should you turn off the automatic update?

This process requires a stänige Internet connection. Example, if you have no Internet flatrate and only want to be online, even if you run an action (eg make a move), then you should disable the automatic update.

How do I turn automatic updating on or off?

Click on "Personal Data" in the header. Under "My Settings" you can turn off the automatic updating on or off.

Personal information

Click on "Personal Data" in the header. Here you see all your personal data and settings from which you can change some.

Messages

In the header you see in the brackets next to "Messages" is the number of unread messages you have received from other players or chessgamble. Click on "Messages" to come to your unread messages.

message as read

Click on the button with the message "read". This message can now be found under "Read messages". You can then mark the message as unread again.

Create a new message

You can send messages to other players or to chessgamble. Click "Create New Message" under your inbox to.

specify recipients

You can send messages to other players at chessgamble or both.

If you want to send us a message, select the checkbox "Send to chessgamble".

To notify other players, they add with "Add recipient" a player. Now published in the field, enter the desired recipient (his chessgamble player name). You can use this "remove recipient" take back out again.

message text and form

Write in the input field for "text" their text messages. Your text must contain at least 3, more than 255 characters.

With "Send message" the message is sent to the selected recipients.

Thinking time systems

There are two thinking time systems in chessgamble:

The thinking time system is selected from the tournament creation and applies to all games of the tournament. A player who exceeds the waiting period has lost the game immediately.

X days for 10 moves

In this thinking time system, each player has X days for 10 moves. The reflection is measured to the minute at the time of the move.
After every completed 10 moves the player back exactly X number of days for the next 10 moves. Not thinking time consumed from a previous 10-day period is not the current or any subsequent 10-day periods credited.

For example, 20 days for 10 moves

Click on "My holiday" in the header. You see your leave entitlement for the current and the following year. To new holiday (applies only to correspondence chess) subscribe, enter into the fields the From and To Date (each inclusive), and then click "Submit" button.

If you for example to 12.11. Want to enter (one day) holiday, enter the From and To date than the 12.11. at.

Security

Chessgamble used for both gaming action, as well as for monetary transactions for a logged-in player, the SSL protocol. This encrypted communication protocol, used by and banks in their online business. By using this protocol, the reaction rate of chessgamble website is somewhat reduced. Chessgamble takes this small disadvantage for the benefit of your safety, but gladly accepted.
